Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2, 2026

The short version

Amber is an early-stage product being built in the open. By using it, you’re joining us on that journey. We ask for your patience, your feedback, and your understanding that things will break.

What Amber is

Amber is a macOS application that captures periodic screenshots of your screen and makes them searchable using natural language. It runs quietly in your menu bar and is designed to help you find things you’ve seen before.

Early prototype disclaimer

Amber is currently in early prototype. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We’re building this alongside our users and your feedback directly shapes what gets built next. We make no guarantees about uptime, data retention, or feature availability during this phase.

Your account

  • You must sign in with a valid Google account.
  • You’re responsible for maintaining the security of your account and device.
  • One account per person. Don’t share your account credentials.

Payment & refunds

Amber is a paid product. Payment is processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to the pricing shown at the time of purchase. If you’re unhappy for any reason during your first 30 days, reach out and we’ll refund you — no questions asked.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Amber to capture content you don’t have the right to capture. Don’t use Amber to monitor other people without their knowledge and consent. Don’t reverse engineer, redistribute, or resell the application.

Your data

Your screenshots and data belong to you. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information. You can request data deletion at any time.

Limitation of liability

Amber is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We’re not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to data loss, missed captures, or service interruptions. Use Amber at your own discretion.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We’ll notify you of material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
